- 2 large onions thinly sliced
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, melt butter and olive oil over medium heat.
Add sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
Pour in the beef broth and scrape up any browned bits from the pan.
